Photos from last weekend's soccer tournament

Last weekend, John and his Chelsea teammates played in a two-day soccer tournament. They made it to the final game, which they won the game 4-2 in overtime. John made a clutch save with just minutes left in regulation to keep the game tied and force overtime. A the boys played their hearts out and deserved their victory.

More from Paris

Last night we enjoyed dinner with Alexis and Maxime in their beautiful Parisian apartment. This morning we got a personal tour of the Louvre from an Art History PhD student from Dallas. Later, John had a snowball fight and soccer kick around with some local kids while Mary had tea and cake with Aunt Lex.

Snow in Paris!

Now the kids got both their vacation wishes: a week in Paris and snow. We have managed a great combination of conventional Paris experiences (Notre Dame Cathedral, River Seine Boat tour) combined with others (French Football Federation and a stage performance for French children).

Alexis and Maxine had us over for dinner tonight and we had an amazing French meal of melted cheese and meat. They have a beautiful apartment and a perfect cat watching over the place.

Great first few days here. Kids are loving it, despite cold weather. Lex and Maxime have been great hosts. And Mary looks fantastic in her beret!
